Lady Bug (Arcade)

Lady Bug is a Pac-Man-like game with an insect theme, flipping gates, and many more opportunities for bonus points. Plus, it's one of those rare Arcade games (along with Mr. Do!) where you can actually earn a free game!

Unused Graphics#

Interestingly, tiles for a big green dinosaur take up 39 of the 128 available object graphics slots. According to a developer interview for the Arcade Archives release of the game (explanation starts at 2:49:25), this was meant for an in-game advertisement for a dinosaur-themed game (plainly titled Dinosaur) that was ultimately scrapped.

There's also a bone with the dinosaur.

Revisional Differences#

To do:
ACA audio was taken from a selection of YouTube uploads of the game, should be re-ripped directly from console ASAP.

On July 2, 2026, the game was rereleased as part of Hamster's Arcade Archives series. Unlike the earlier ACA rerelease of Mr. Do!, which keeps the Astro Boy theme completely intact, all uses of the 1973 song Tentoumushi no Samba (Ladybug Samba) were slightly altered.
