Gladiator is an action game where you control a gladiator (obviously) through a castle and defeat enemies using high, middle, and low attacks. It can be considered the spiritual successor to Allumer's own Great Swordsman, which utilizes the same control scheme. It would later receive a sequel in 1992, called Blandia.
Version Differences#

This needs some investigation. |
Currently, four different versions are present in MAME:
- Gladiator is the US release.
- Ougon no Shiro is the Japanese release, which translates as "Golden Castle".
- Great Gurianos is presumed by MAME to be a bootleg, but considering that the home computer releases were called Great Gurianos in Europe, it can be assumed that this may potentially be a European release.
- Golden Castle is presumed by MAME to be a prototype, though the nature of this set is currently unknown.
