Gekitou Burning Pro Wrestling

To do:
Unfinished wrestlers

If the name didn't give it away, Gekitou Burning Pro Wrestling is a Fire Pro Wrestling clone with a different camera point of view. More notably, it gives players the ability to play as the referee, making it the forefather to the "Special Referee" mode in later American wrestling games.

Bad Controller Error#

Plugging in any other peripheral onto controller port 1 other than a Joypad or Multitap makes this error pop up on boot.

Anti-Piracy#

The following content may induce seizures and has been hidden by default. Click to reveal:

This game has a check to ensure there is SRAM of some kind by writing to SRAM at $307FEC, which is compared with the value at $1FF0 to stop a screen transition iterator. If the SRAM write fails, on every screen transition outside of the BPS logo and title screen, the fade-in animation will continue flickering while the controls will remain locked until it stops at a dim brightness. The original intention would be for the animation to infinitely loop, locking the player out of the game and possibly giving them a seizure, but the player can still regain control and play the game with the dim brightness as the ROM region will eventually randomize to be the same value that this check looks for.

Game Genie code 6DD7-5BFA will activate the anti-piracy measure.
