"Active 10"#
The unused copy for the extended YouTuber demo from the second game is also present here.
"demo"#
The text from the demo version still remains in the files of the full version, alongside the one for the extended YouTuber demo, however, only the standard demo graphic was changed to match FNaF 3's logo.
"lives left", "tiny man", and "tiny lives"#
The "Lives" text and counters are in the third game's files, and, like with their presence in FNaF 2, are probably leftovers from the first game, as they were never updated for this game either (the “Lives” text still uses the font from the first game). This is the last time these graphics appear in the files of a FNaF game, as Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 and onwards lack these graphics entirely.
"active 7"#
The version number from the second game is present in the third game, likely as a leftover.
"what day"#
"Active 3" and "lives left"#
The retro-styled stick man and the "lives left" counter that was meant to be seen on the night screen in the first game also appears out of bounds in the third game.
"Active 2"#
A green-colored variant for the night 2 graphic can be found out of frame, similar to night 1.
"Frame 1"#
"seal vent text"#
An unused "Seal Vent" object is present off-frame, indicating that the player would have had to press a separate button to seal vents rather than double-clicking on a cam. It still fully functions when placed back on frame. Oddly enough, it also seals vents quicker when used.

Unused Graphic Variations#
title#
"static/Animation 12-15"#

Sprites of the Puppet when it comes out of the box in Five Nights at Freddy's 2 also appear in Five Nights at Freddy's 3. Most likely just a leftover from copying over the static object.
"what day"#
"Active/Animation 17"#
Graphics exist for a seventh night, even though there are only six accessible in-game.
Unused Areas#
Below the map in the Happiest Day minigame is remnants from when the Frame was copied from the BB's Air Adventure Frame. The platforms were overwritten with the table sprites, but all other graphics remain.
Below the map in Chica's Party, a similar leftover area is hidden from BB's Air Adventure. Unlike BB's Air Adventure, both this and Happiest Day have hallways extending far past the borders. This suggests the room originally had extending ceilings and floors in BB's Air Adventure before being removed after it was copied.
Obscured Graphics#

The animation of Springtrap walking in front of the office is cut off halfway, hiding his (stationary) legs.
Just like Springtrap's walking animation, his standing-behind-window-pose is not seen in full.
Only the top half of Phantom Mangle's head can be seen normally, leaving the rest of the head hidden from view.
Cut-Off Sounds#
Volume warning! Like the previous game, the sound (named "crazy garble" in the files) that plays when William Afton dismantles the Animatronics in the post-night minigame and in the three rare screens was recorded at twenty seconds long, this sound only plays the first five seconds (three seconds during minigame) before cutting out to the next scene. Furthermore, pausing the game on the PC version by pressing CTRL+P on the keyboard during any of the three rare screens reveals that the sound repeats itself after playing for twenty seconds long but not during the post-night minigames.
Oddities#
Reused Code#
The rare screens appear to use recycled code from the second game, as they have the same chance of appearing as the ones from that game, and appear in the same places with the exception of a timer being set down to 5 seconds instead of 10 in the previous game.
Springtrap's Third Rare Screen#
The image of Springtrap trying to pull its mouth, revealing William Afton's mummified corpse's head (appears rarely when you load a night), has his right hand clipped through his right ear.
Revisional Differences#
v1.01#
The v1.01 patch of the game, released on March 6, 2015, fixes several issues with the game.
- The "Reboot All" option on the maintenance panel takes less time to finish.
- The static on the cameras has been slightly reduced.
- Using the audio option takes less time.
- Phantom Chica's jumpscare has a smaller chance of breaking.
- It's easier to avoid Phantom BB's jumpscare.
- It was possible for Springtrap to appear in two places in the Office.
- The chance of the game freezing or crashing has been reduced.
v1.02#
The v1.02 patch, released on March 12, 2015, fixes minor bugs.
v1.03#
The v1.03 patch, released on March 23, 2015, adds a fourth star to the menu when Aggressive Nightmare mode is beaten.
v1.031#
The v1.031 patches, which were released on April 1st and April 2, 2015, change several things related to sound effects.
- The volume on certain sound effects have been fixed.
- Springtrap makes noises when he moves between rooms.
- Phantom Freddy makes footsteps sound when he appears in the Office's window.
Halloween Update#
Released on October 27th, 2015. Just like the first two games, this update adds decorations to the office that only appear on Halloween. Like the other games, the decorations consist of lights and a jack-o-lantern. Notably, said jack-o-lantern appears to be the same one from the first game.
