Enduro Racer (Sega Master System)

This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?

To do:

  • More regional differences (e.g. western version fixed a bug where you can beat the game by simply keeping your bike on the leftmost section of the screen).
  • Double check to see if there is an ending in the Japanese version.

A game notorious for being sold at full retail price in the US despite the Western version of the game containing only half the memory size and game content compared to its Japanese version counterpart.

Level Select#

Press Up, Down, Left, Right at the title screen. The level number will appear on the right side of the screen. Toggle it with Up and Down and start the game to go to the chosen level.

Regional Differences#

The Japanese version came on a 256KB cartridge while the rest of the world got a 128KB cartridge so as a result half the game was cut back in the international versions.

Japan

International

The title screen has a picture that palette changes when going to the same title screen as the international versions. One extra difference is that in the Japanese version, there are two lists of Best Times rather than just one.

In the Japanese version when the time is up, a map is displayed showing the player the progress of the game. This does not appear in the international versions and instead goes to a Game Over.
