A dubiously canonical prequel/spinoff to Dragon's Lair, where Dirk must find 194 fragments of a Life Stone to resurrect The Dormant Knight.

MotiveTime kinda went cheapskate for this entry, choosing to loosely port Elite's 1985 ZX Spectrum platformer Roller Coaster.

Regional Differences#

To do:
check if there's more and verify what's here, while adding title/copyright differences too

  • In the other versions have fall damage. Falling from about 2/3 of the screen's height will result in death. However, the damage can be cancelled if Dirk grabs a fragment of the Life Stone, transitions to a new screen or lands on a moving platform. The European version removes the fall damage.
  • In the European version of the game, an extra life is awarded for every 42 Life Stone fragments collected but a max reserve amount of 10 lives is never exceeded.
  • In the other, holding down an action button will make Dirk jump continuously as opposed to the European version where holding it will only make him jump once.
  • In “The Cells” area, the European version includes a large gap between a mine cart and the beginning of the rail tracks. In other versions, however, the cart is placed at the far edge of the track which could result in the player having to move the cart before actually boarding it.
