Daikaijuu Monogatari

This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?

Daikaijuu Monogatari is one of the better Dragon Quest clones of the era.

Debug Menu Options#

This needs some investigation.
Discuss ideas and findings on the talk page.
Specifically: There are a couple of other things (sound test, etc) that I probably would have found already if this game's code weren't so unnecessarily convoluted.

While the pause menu normally consists of eight items, there are three other hidden menu items that lead to various debug tools.

Use any of the following Pro Action Replay codes at the pause menu, then press A (deactivate the code after reaching the respective screen):

  • 7E07E808 - Debug status screen
  • 7E07E809 - Debug flag check
  • 7E07E80A - Stat editor

Debug Status Screen#

dkm-status.png

Shows some information about the current area. "Party-XY" is the player's coordinates on the current map, while "People" shows the number of NPCs in the area.

Debug Flag Check#

dkm-flags.png

Shows the values of various flags and variables. The four choices in red ("naka", "ishi", "miya", and "free") choose from four pages of 256 flags each.

Stat Editor#

dkm-stats.png

Lets you edit the stats of any character in the party by using L and R.

Each stat can be individually incremented or decremented, but changing the character's level will also automatically increase or decrease all stats accordingly.
