DéjàVu'' is a 1985 Macintosh game in which you uncover and eliminate matching pairs of items (which might be shapes, words, numbers, 1985 Macintosh games called "Deja Vu''", etc.)
Desk Accessories#
There's a lot of content in the Note Pad and Scrapbook which seems to have been meant for end users to discover... only they couldn't, because this Finderless disk boots directly into the game, which does not permit access to desk accessories.
These screenshots were taken after transplanting the Note Pad and Scrapbook files to another disk's System folder.
Note Pad#
Scrapbook#
The ninth scrapbook image uniquely has a black border, which is not visible in the Scrapbook DA but is revealed when pasted into a paint program.
Disk and File Names#
The master disk's name at initialization belonged to the copy protection scheme, Xelok V1.0.
The name of the DéjàVu application, Ver2.3, is followed in Sector 0 by partially overwritten fragments of longer file names:
Ver2.3n 2.32.1
This pattern of traces would have been left by a sequence of renamings such as the following.
