This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion. |
Crime Fighters is a beat-'em-up that was the 3rd most successful arcade unit in August 1989. That sums up the game in a nutshell, minus some...interesting content.
Unused Graphics#
A filler graphic of a beetle that comes in three different sizes, with "DANNY" written under the largest. This same graphic was used in Haunted Castle, and presumably "DANNY" is a mistransliteration of "DUMMY".
More filler graphics.

The Japanese version has some very sexual content that was either reduced or outright removed in other releases:
- A male leather-clad enemy that will occasionally hump the air when walking around. If he catches the player, he will begin humping the player and reducing their health.
- An animated poster in Level 2 shows off someone adjusting their swimsuit around their butt. This is still in other versions, albeit non-animated.
- A billboard in Level 6 of a woman's lips will...lick and attack the player if they get too close. This is just a billboard in all other versions.

Version Differences#
The 4-player and 2-player versions of the game contain some gameplay differences:
- The 4-player version only uses two buttons (punch and kick), whereas the 2-player one uses three (punch, kick, and backwards kick).
- In the 4-player version, guns contain limited ammo and can be picked up again if an enemy knocks it out of your hands. In the 2-player version, guns contain unlimited ammo, but if an enemy knocks it out of your hands, it'll disappear. The guns were also made weaker in the 2-player version.
- In the 4-player version, your health is represented by a number that decreases over time and when you get hit. In the 2-player version, your health is represented by a bar that only decreases when you're hit.
