Contra Spirits is a bootleg port of the SNES original that's probably best known for its "THEND" ending sequence.

Unused Graphics#
Alternate Logo#
An unused title screen that says "Lanbo Waizhuan" in Chinese ("Lanbo" being a Chinese approximation of "Rambo", and "Waizhuan" being equivalent to the Japanese "Gaiden", so "Rambo Gaiden"). The 1995 copyright suggests it's a leftover from earlier in development, though it's also possible it was meant to allow the manufacturers to produce copies of the game with an alternate title using the same PCB, in a similar fashion to Hummer Team's Aladdin.
This game uses the same mapper as Aladdin, which supports this functionality, but it doesn't seem to have been used.

Unused Weapons#
In this game's CHR, there are graphical designs for flame thrower, crush gun, homing gun and barrier weapon. However, unfortunately, these weapons have never appeared in the game. The following pictures show the possible styles they might have in the game.
Unused Continue Screen#
Present in the tilemap data.
Hidden JY Logo#
Press Up (×4), Down (×4), Left (×2), Right (×2) before the title screen.
Stage Select#
At the stage info and score screen, before the level starts, press A + B + Select. Use Up / Down to select a stage, and Start to begin.
Debug Leftovers#

Please elaborate. |
Game Genie code XVUEKPAV re-enables an in-game debug display. The variables displayed are set up by different debug functions, which are also disabled but can be enabled with more patches. They include player coords display, various helper cheats, etc.
Revisional Differences#
The original 1995 release allows the player to set the number of lives per continue to any amount between 3 and 9. The 1996 version changes this to allow the player to set 3, 6, 9, 12 or 30 lives.
