This is a sub-page of Proto:Transformers (PlayStation 2, International)/Build 5171.

Build 5171 contains higher quality Extras Menu images compared to retail builds. 5171 stores its images as 32bpp .ITF images, while retail stores them as 24bpp .JPG images. In addition, all images contain some additional text at the bottom which was removed for the final release.

Along with having images which made it into the final game, Build 5171 comes packaged with some entirely new images which didn't made it into the final game.

This folder has photos of the three playable characters and their respective Mini-Cons. There's a render of Sparkplug's Lamborghini Diablo alt mode, which was replaced with the robot mode approximating a vehicle for the final release. The Diablo model and textures are present in Build 3944.

Mini-Cons#

There's a handful of Mini-Con renders which aren't displayed in-game. Seven of these are actually renders of some of the unused Mini-Con models which can still be found in the final game. The textures are higher quality compared to what's present in available prototypes.

In addition, there's two renders of retail(ish) Mini-Cons which are present but not found in the final game. The Armor Mini-Con is using preliminary textures found in Build 3944. The F1 Mini-Con is using its final textures.

Decepticlones#

There's some unique renders of the game's enemies which didn't make it into the final game. There's even renders of the Artillery Unit, who doesn't have any feature renders present in retail builds. The Dropship is using some early textures. While the retail build contains a very similar set of textures, the Build 5171 render is clearly a later revision, evident by the rectangular details on the bottom of the ship being filled in.

While the front-facing Command Unit, Medium Unit, and Sentry Drones renders do appear in the retail game, the background color is slightly different when compared to the final. The Rollarm Unit also has a completely different background color in the final game. Once again, the Guerrilla Unit is still using an early set of textures found in Build 3944.

Some nifty action shots which were unfortunately cut.
