This is a sub-page of Proto:Super Meat Boy (Windows, Xbox 360).
The July 14, 2010 prototype of Super Meat Boy, For being really close to release, It contains A LOT of differences to retail and lacks lots of things.
Music#
all the songs from this build are the same as in retail, aside from two
Cotton alleys theme is really unfinished in here, lacking instruments and being shorter. The Rapture Dark World theme is weird, In this prototype the song used is "Dr. Fetus' Castle", Then for retail Xbox 360 it got changed to "It Ends With A Whimper" and then in pc release it got changed back to "Dr. Fetus' Castle" Which was already finished in the xbox prototype

Bosses#
Even if only 2 bosses are available, the stuff surrounding these is pretty interesting
Lil Slugger#
Lil Slugger has a lot of unused animations alongside his old boss battle, which worked really diferently
Watch on YouTube
As shown in the video, the boss battle relied on leading the squirrels to Lil Slugger. This version of the fight is very buggy.

Brownie#Even if he isnt present in from build, The level itself for his fight is still present in the files, altought really different Characters#Altought they are all the same, there are some hidden characters in the files of the proto Dumb Meat Boy, Burnt Boy And Bandage Girl#They are all unplayable in the build and look and have the same animations as in retail Tim#By far the most interesting character in here, This one has his graphics from the WiiWare build He isnt playable and cant be unlocked via modifying "charmenu.cfg" and doesnt seem to have the graphics for the green bubble The other unplayable characters#aside from the warpzone characters (excluding the kid) there arent any other playable characters in the build all of them do have they character select screen animations, but no code or character animations are done in the build Interesting fact is that early on in the games development for previews Tim used to be in a grey shilloute that had a question mark in it (dubbed questionmarktim in the files), He is leftover in the xbox files inside charactermenu.tp but is not used and can only be seen if you unlock normally not playable characters, and due to some error its question mark is offset, but in the prototype charactermenu.tp it looks like it used to Levels And Warpzones#These are pretty interesting, Early in the game most warpzone characters (excluding commander video) where in different worlds as they where supposed to |
