The game was planned for an US release by Accolade; a prototype exists proving this. Some slight changes were made to the game in the process:
- The name of the Ford Escort (unlicensed even in the Japanese version) and Lancia Delta (licensed from Garage Italya, rather than from Fiat directly; because of this, their logo was removed from the startup screen) were changed.
- The default speedometer unit was changed, though it can still be changed from the options.
