This page details one or more prototype versions of Street Dance.
Max Zhou has leaked a number of bootleg demos from Inventor and Nice Code, one of which is a prototype of Street Dance from 2000. The timeframe explains why Jar Jar Binks is one of the characters, since Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace had been released a year prior.
This prototype is solely an Inventor creation, as all Nice Code did was help with the differences seen in the final version such as the sampled music (whether the final song list was also their creation or something earlier on from Inventor is unknown).
General Differences#
- The title screen has a different copyright year:

- Songs loop once before ending, although the charts are not accommodated to fit that.
- Due to not using its special enhancements, this prototype is not running on VT02 hardware and therefore not using its OneBus mapper either; instead, it is on plain MMC3.
Song List#
Unlike the final game's 12 tracks with two repeated lists for other difficulties keeping the same names, this build has 7 songs repeated across 7 lists, with 68 different song name entries. It's possible that Inventor had planned to include more songs, or that the list was of songs being considered for inclusion, though in any case only five of the 68 - Butterfly, Hero, Barbie Girl, Boys, and Boom Boom Dollar ("BOM BOM BOM") - ended up as tracks in the final game.
The actual tracklist in the prototype is mostly different:
- Butterfly
- Funkytown
- My Heart Will Go On
- Say You'll Never
- Brother Louie
- Mamma Maria
- Sha La La La La
Of these, only Butterfly appears in both the 68-song list and the final game as well.
