General Differences#

Please elaborate.
Having more detail is always a good thing.
Specifically: Add more specifics

  • Lives settings include two, three, and four instead of three, four, and five.
  • There is no "easy" difficulty setting.
  • Mickey's watch-tapping idle animation does not play during loading screens.
  • Some of the music is different. Some music is already in the game, but goes unused.
  • Certain stages have camera differences. Steamboat Willie 1 does not use the “look-ahead” camera.
  • Bats make wing-flapping sounds, which were likely removed for being too repetitive.
  • In Dungeon, there is a dripping water sound not present in the final version.
  • Library and Kitchen use a track that is not used in the final version (but is still present in the sound test).
  • At the end of each stage, the “stage clear” music plays over a black screen. In the final game, this only happens at the end of each cartoon segment.
  • Several sound effects are missing; all of them were later added using the S-DSP noise generator.
  • The physics of the bones bouncing on the ground after a skeleton explodes are different: they bounce lower and are harder to avoid. In the Elevator stage, this actually make the stage much easier.
  • In Haunted Basement, the last ghost on the wooden bridge is not present.
  • In Mad Doc Eol, the game does not pause to load the boss music; instead, there is silence for a few seconds until Mad Doc reveals his face.
  • Mad Doc only needs 3 hits to be defeated and drops far fewer potions.
  • Level warps still work. It’s easy to perform in Ride the Gurney, but difficult in Steamboat Willie due to the different camera.
  • Throughout the entire credits, Mickey holding a script can be seen in the background. In the final version, this background is only present during the staff roll, while the title screen background is used during the enemy showcase.
  • There is no music during the credits.

Bugs#

  • Tripping over a rock in the Moose Chase level may cause a graphical glitch. This bug is also present in the final game.
