On December 2, 2024, popular Guitar Hero and Rock Band streamer "A Wise Moose" announced he had purchased a disk from a former Neversoft employee that has a build of Warriors of Rock, dubbed Guitar Hero 6. 1 This build predates the final by six months and refers itself as 'Guitar Hero 6' instead of 'Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock'

It seems that Band Hero 2 would have contained more detailed venue animations similar to The Beatles Rock Band as "Radio Song" by Days Difference contains unique animations, lip-sync, and lighting. This is the only song in this build that shows text during the song. In different parts of the song text says to "Deploy Star Power!" and "Don't Miss A Note!". These relate to the 2 challenges 'Star Power Triggered' and 'Section Accuracy'. A glimpse of what Band Hero 2 might have turned out to be.
BH2_LightStreaks#
In the costumes for the character "Clive Winston," there is an aura effect surrounding him called "BH2_LightStreaks."

Guitar Hero 5 Leftovers#
Guitar Hero 6 was forked from Guitar Hero 5, as this is the 'First Playable' build. It contains many Guitar Hero 5 leftovers.
- When the Xbox 360's locale is anything other than 'United States', it shows a different splash screen. This screen uses an earlier splash than what is seen in Guitar Hero 5, suggesting that GH6 was forked before GH5 was finalized.

- Every GH5 song is in the files and can be accessed in the debug menu under "GH5 (Old)"
- Some GH5 venues are in the files and can be accessed in the debug menu. These venues are:
- Cairo Bazaar (Z_Cairo)
- The 13th Rail (Z_Subway)
- Calavera Square (Z_MexicoCity), Crashes after loading.
- Electric Honky Tonk (Z_Nashville)
Early Cutscenes#
An initial, incomplete iteration of Quest Mode is found in the prototype version.
