Two prototypes of a scrapped European localization of Gekisha Boy 2, titled Polaroid Pete, are known to exist. This page covers the latest prototype, dated December 15, 2001.
Luckily, as the game's plot revolves around a photographer travelling abroad to Japan the vast majority of graphics went untranslated, but there were still a couple of changes however.
Title Screen#
- The protagonist David Goldman's name was changed to "Pete" Goldman.
- A video of the game's to-be publisher, JVC Music, was added before the initial loading screen.
- A Polaroid i-Zone logo splash screen was added after the Irem logo.
- The animated logo intro was replaced with two flickering images of the European logo and Pete (David).
- Due to how the Japanese logo worked (in which animation would play if skipped straight into the title screen), this creates a very awkward-looking sequence if skipped in the European version as the images continue to flicker over the moving background.

- The banner behind the Editor in Chief saying "アイ ウォント ピュリッツァー" (I Want a Pulitzer) was changed to "No news is good news" in English.

Option Menu#
- The options menu is opened by pressing the cross button the the Japanese version, triangle instead for the European version.
- The options menu in the European version lacks the "Capture" section, which would have allowed players to transfer photos from a Picture Paradise-compatible camera connected through the USB port and insert them into the game.

- In the Japanese version the front pages of the newspaper could be printed through the Sony popegg printer by pressing Start. This feature was removed in the European version and pressing Start only advances to the next front page.
