Nintendo Power Preview#

Shown on Page 93 of Issue 28 (September 1991). Notably, the screenshots feature coins, crosses, and a completely different-looking Gomez (decidedly more goofy and cartoonish-looking, and very likely with a different hitbox given the second image above).

All of these are still in the final game, albeit unused. While the crosses are present in The Garden's layout in the final, they're blacked-out.

Prerelease	Final

An early version of The Gallery, with various character portraits along with the coins and early Gomez. Of these, the final game only uses the Cousin Itt picture, with the rest replaced by more realistic pictures of the various family members, although the early set is still in the ROM.
