This page details pre-release information and/or media for Submarine Tech Demo.

Early

Final

The E3 2004 "tech demo" B-roll depicts an early version.

Minimap/level

  • The minimap depicts an early level, with a large pit at the end instead of near the middle, no top to the water (although that may just be on the minimap), no ship, and a cave for the goal. Also, either the early minimap used the same icon for the goal and enemies, or there was an enemy ship at the goal.
  • The top screen depicts what appears to be an earlier layout for the start of the tunnel with the stalagmites.

Gameplay

  • The ship is still releasing bubbles from its top, even though the surface/dive slider is in the middle.

HUD

  • The minimap is smaller.
  • The timer also has milliseconds, unlike the final which just has minutes and seconds.
  • Depictions of the submarine on the HUD are cartoony, rather than resembling the actual submarine.
  • There is an icon for the damage meter.
  • The torpedo panel with four buttons does not exist.
  • There are four unidentified panels.
  • The sliders are red when unselected and blue when selected, unlike the final ones which stay gray.
  • The degrees meter is blue.
  • The grays used are lighter.
  • There are miscellaneous graphical changes.
