Street Fighter Alpha 2 (SNES)

This page details pre-release information and/or media for Street Fighter Alpha 2 (SNES).

Club Nintendo Preview#

Three pre-release photos of the Super Famicom version were shown in an issue of the Mexican magazine Club Nintendo.

The differences noticed in the screenshots:

• A different font was used for the characters' names in the pre-release images.
• The characters are bigger in comparison to the final version.
• The characters' shadows didn't flicker and both were apparently visible at the same time, unlike the final version.
• The victory icons are different.
• Rolento's name is misspelled as "Rolent," much like in Final Fight 2.

According to the images, it seems that the SNES port of Street Fighter Alpha 2 was originally going to use the SA-1 chip, but due to time and memory space constraints, the S-DD1 chip was used instead.
