This page details pre-release information and/or media for Spot: The Video Game (NES).
EGM Issue 9 (April 1990)#

At this stage the game seems to be titled simply Spot, lacking the clarification that yes, this is a Video Game. The article also specifies that at this stage, the game only supports up to two players, while the final game supports up to four.

The title screen logo is tilted at an angle, with a much less prominent drop shadow effect and a white trademark symbol. The O's hole is towards the right of the O, while in the final game it's positioned on the left. The copyright information is displayed at the top of the screen rather than on the previous screen, and it displays the year in roman numerals rather than digits. The cursor is displayed in the middle of the screen, away from the selectable options, which actually does still happen in the final game, although very briefly.

The score counters are positioned differently on the screen, further away and jutting over the top of the board. While Spot is doing his thing, there appears to only be one of him.
