Prerelease

Final

  • The tilesets used in the trailer for the walls, floors and platforms are not used in any stages in the final game.
  • The area number is 0 in the HUD, despite the game starting you in area 1 and using the background for area 2. The stage indicator next to the door icon is missing.
  • The exit doors use a completely different graphic of a wooden door, with no locks to indicate how many keys are required.
  • While not impossible in the final game, it is worth noting that the screenshots have all HUD information displayed at once. While this option is available, in the Japanese release this option is the eighth out of eight choices, and not an option at all in the international release.

Prerelease

Final

  • When Jiro/Spanky loses a life in the final Japanese release, he bends forward and displays the kanji for self-reflection. While he bends forward in the trailer, no kanji is displayed.
  • The waves in the background are missing their animation.
