Cut Bonus Videos#

On November 11, 2009, the United Kingdom's video game content rating organisation, the BBFC, classified the game and released its page roughly four months before its release 1 and even more importantly, before Sega even announced the game.

In said page, a 45-second video titled "SONIC CHRONICLES - THE DARK BROTHERHOOD (VIDEO)" and 3:05-long video titled "THE HISTORY OF SONIC (VIDEO)" are listed among the game's contents. These were cut as they do not appear in the final game. However, former Sega Australia employee Brooke Luger who was responsible for the UI artwork, released some development material of the game on their personal website and portfolio2 and among them is an early version of the title screen which features a "Video" option. This is where said videos were most likely to appear.

Cut Games#

Among the images on Luder's portfolio, one of them shows that at some point in development Sonic Spinball, Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, and Sonic 3D Blast were supposed to be featured in the collection. The third image shows that the loading screen for 3D Blast had already been made and translated into the collection's other languages, though the translated versions still use the North American title instead of the "Flickies' Island" subtitle which had been used in said languages' European countries. Going off what was listed in the aforementioned BBFC classification among the game's contents, these games were presumably cut sometime before November 2009.
