US Promo Video#

One known promo video of Snowboard Kids exists, which showcases a pre-release of the international localisation. The narrator's voices appear not to be done yet, and are completely different. Watch on YouTube

Differences#

  • Still uses the Japanese title screen audio, but the visuals are like the international versions.
  • The menu background still uses the Japanese version's "Snobow Kids"
  • In the Course Select menu, Return to Menu is named Return to Main.
  • Narrator voices are completely different; not used in either the Japanese or final International versions.
  • Trick bonuses still have the Japanese version's Get! present.
  • The board All Around is misspelt as All Round It's possible this is how the Japanese pronounce that board's name.

What appears final#

  • The Course names match the final international version, although not all maps are visible.
  • All voices heard from the characters themselves match the final international version, making it seem the narrator was last.

Manual Build#

The manual of Snowboard Kids contains international pre-release screenshots, very similar to the build of the video above.

  • The menu background still uses the Japanese version's "Snobow Kids"
  • The multiplayer menu says Change the settings in the multiplayer. The finalised version changed the grammar by removing the second the.
  • Unlike the video above, the item shops still contain the Japanese characters.
  • The menus appear to have the finalised international skill game names. However, the in-game graphics still have the old Japanese ones. The manual mentions the Japanese names, where Shoot Cross is named Shot Cross which is the incorrect name for both regions.
  • In the Course Select menu, Return to Menu is named Return to Main.
  • In the Skill Game Menu, Return to Menu is named Return to Main.
  • The board All Around is misspelt as All Round. It's possible this is how the Japanese pronounce that board's name.
