Several images in the game's manual have differences from the final game. The fact the text is in English would suggest the changes were made rather late in development.

Pre-release	Final

It looks as if you were once able to see all the stats on one screen, or at least have the option to see the stats of a particular region. In the final game, the main screen only shows partial stats and you have to press Select to see the next set of stats.

The list of the major lords that controlled each region includes their portraits. The final game only shows the names.
