Pokémon Center Demo#

Before the game's release in Japan, a special demo version titled Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky: Pokémon Center Limited! Special Content was available through DS Download Play exclusively at Pokémon Center stores. The actual ROM of this Download Play demo remains elusive today.

Gameplay#

• The demo consisted of the 5-floor "PokéCen Dungeon" (ポケセンダンジョン).
• The player controlled Sunflora, while the partner role was filled by Bidoof.
• Enemies in the dungeon solely consisted of Pichu and Cleffa.
• The dungeon shared the tileset used by Forest Path and Sky Peak 1st Station Pass in the final game.
• Unusually, the demo did not display the leader's HP bar as well as floor and level information, and it was not possible to fail the demo by fainting.
• The menu opened by pressing X was entirely missing.
• Moves were absent, and only regular attacks could be used.
• The final floor let the player choose between three large and colored treasure chests. Opening one of the chests would display a special screen, which could be shown at the Pokémon Center store counter to receive a promotional postcard-sized sticker. As the game froze on this screen, it had to be re-downloaded before it could be played again.
