Nintendo Company Guide 2013#
In the Nintendo Company Guide booklet for 2013, which was given out to Nintendo staff, some pieces of prerelease media can be found for various Nintendo games from that time1. Guess which game was among them?
Flying squirrel Mario#
Three early design of flying squirrel Mario are seen.
- The one on the left:
- Cap is gray with a yellow tip and different, wider ears
- Gray tone is darker than the final one
- The one in the middle:
- Completely different cap design
- Red scarf
- Normal pants and a visible belly instead of overalls
- The one on the right:
- Yellow Scarf
- Closest to the final overall
Nabbit#
A few early Nabbit designs are featured too!
- The one on the left has different eyes and buttons on his belly. None of which made it to the final
- The one in the center is mostyl obscured but the buttons are gone and he seems to have a white face
- The one on the right has a yellow face
- The one on the top is the closes to the final. Features his scarf but the eyes are still different
Early Flying squirrel mushroom designs#
Seen on the left part of the image are earlier designs for the flying squirrel mushroom. None of them really resemble the final one.
Goomba designs#
A few sketches of different Goomba types. Notably, one of them resembles Fawful of all characters...
Early World Map#
A picture of the World map in an earlier state is seen on the top. It's a very rough version of what it would later become but the placement of the worlds and some secrets seem to already have been decided on.
