To do:

  • More post-June reveal stuff and other information to be covered and documented.

Lumines Arise was first revealed at the start of PlayStation's State of Play on June 5, 2025. Serving as the game director for Arise is Takashi Ishihara, with Tetsuya Mizuguchi, Mark MacDonald and Julian Chunovic being executive producers. For Enhance, they were wanting to create an entirely new Lumines game from scratch in Unity that was not a remake of a previous entry, after the release of Lumines Remastered. Under the working title of Lumines X: new moon, the development team that had worked on Rez Infinite, and Tetris Effect returned to work on the game's modes, story and graphics. Noboru Mutoh serves as the sound artist, while composers Takako Ishida (who was also the sound director for the game) and Hydelic worked on the tracklist of 36 songs for the game's stages.

Behind the Music#

The original soundtrack provides the definitive synesthetic journey for the game, made from the ground up from the award-winning musical minds behind Tetris Effect: Connected and Area X of Rez Infinite. Across 37 masterfully crafted tracks, Hydelic and Takako Ishida blend pulsing acid techno, ethereal house, orchestral soundscapes and soulful vocal pop anthems. After the game's State of Play reveal trailer was released, “Arise”, “Dreamland” and “Only Human” became standout singles. The game's Journey mode takes you from lush jungles, oceans teeming with life and snakes preparing to strike, to more electronic frontiers like bustling neon streets and the endless expanse of outer space. Whether players are looking to lose themselves in a hypnotic trance or find their next high-energy anthem, the game's original music serves as an emotional, sensory experience that stays with you long after the final note fades.
