This page details pre-release information and/or media for Freddy Pharkas: Frontier Pharmacist.
Freddy Pharkas: Frontier Pharmacist was released by Sierra in 1993, first in a floppy-disk version and later with a talkie CD release (albeit with the dialogue text considerably cut down in places).

Snails' Demise, Early Version#
The official Hint Book includes this scan of part of the painted background used in the cutscene of the snail stampede falling over a cliff. The original painted art included several of the town buildings, as well as a daytime sky and a scenic desert gorge in the background. In the final game, most of the buildings were painted out, as were the sky and the gorge, and replaced with a solid black background, meant to evoke the simpler computer-drawn art style of the original Lemmings computer game.
Character Portraits#
A collection of the high-resolution art used as the basis for several of the character portraits in the game.

Early Screenshots#
Freddy inside the saloon. Several of the tables in the foreground in the final game are missing, and Madame Ovaree is present here for some reason.
The exterior of the Bank of Bob and the blacksmith shop. The background art appears to have been scanned with a slightly more zoomed-in focus on the Bank than in the final game. This reveals that the name of the Bank as painted on the window says "Bank by Bob" rather than "of."

Another screenshot of Freddy inside the saloon. One of Madame Ovaree's girls is also walking around in the saloon, unlike in the final version.

Freddy in the barbershop, talking to Sal the barber. Freddy's text box mixes dialogue and narration in a way the final game avoids doing.

The snail stampede in the desert outside of town. The snails are much larger and closer to the road into town than they appear in the final game.
