Consumer Software Group TV-GAME COLLECTION '95 Autumn-Winter#

Watch on YouTubeA preview video showing quite a few differences from the final game. (Starts at 8:45 in the video at right.)

  • Lucia's name is spelled "Rusia".
  • The door that leads into Club Capcom in Round 2 is already busted open. The player must throw an enemy into it in the final game.
  • Club Capcom in Round 2 has a different background with different lamps, and a portrait of Guile on the wall.
  • The Player Select screen has numerous differences:
    • All the characters appear shorter. This was changed in the final so their heads reach the top of the frame.
    • Lucia's portrait is very early, and she is missing her leather jacket. She is wearing what appear to be blue elbow pads instead. Some of her sprites using this design are present in this video.
    • Dean's portrait is a completely different character design. He has purple hair, Lucia's leather jacket, and what appears to be a cybernetic right arm and hand.
  • The background of Caine's boss fight in Round 3 has less buildings.
  • Caine is spelled "Kein".
  • Guy appears to freeze in place when Haggar performs his super move on Caine.
  • The rooftop in Chinatown Round 4 is missing a sign with written characters on it. In the final it has been replaced with a larger sign with lights on it.
  • The "UHAH0" sign has black letters instead of colorful ones.
  • May is spelled "Mey".
  • A few moments in the video show earlier versions of Lucia's sprites. Frames for her throw, super, and jumping running kick show her wearing her outfit from the Player Select screen. Some of the frames appear to be in the process of being redrawn to match her outfit as seen in the final game.

Electronic Gaming Monthly Issue 075 (October 1995)#

These screenshots appear to be from the same build show in the video above. The text, presumably referring to Dean, describes him as a "strange warrior who looks like he has blades on his hands", a design that did not carry over to the final game.
