Bad Piggies 2 had gone under development for 10 years. The game was originally in a space-themed setting, before the plot was changed to a follow-up of the first game.
- 2014 - Bad Piggies Space was pitched.
- 2016 - Bad Piggies Space was cancelled.
- 2019 - A new iteration of Bad Piggies 2 is in development.
- 2021 - A teaser trailer for the game was released, with three styles.
- 2022 - Mock-up Google Play, App Store and Steam pages for Bad Piggies 2 was created in Geeklab, a site dedicated to making store page mock-ups.
- 2023 - The team experimented with various builds and designs that the game would have. The three styles were the original style, the Angry Birds Toons style, and a style based off the Angry Birds movies.
- 2023 - A soft-launch build is released on App Store and Google Play in select countries.
- October 31st, 2023 - Bad Piggies 2 was pulled from App Stores, usually being criticized for the game's energy system. It also culminated its cancellation into its soft-launch phase. Bad Piggies 2 servers were also shut down. The team looked for new directions to the game, resulting in the game bringing back to the drawing board. This made Bad Piggies 2 unreleased.
