EGM Issue 9 (April 1990)#

All coverage of the game's appearance at the 1990 Winter CES refers to it as simply "Back to the Future II", with no mention of the third movie. Said Winter CES took place in January, eight months before the final game's release and only four months before the Back to the Future III film was released; given that, it seems the decision to combine the two movies into one game was not planned from the start, but to capitalize on the upcoming movie.
