When Angry Birds was initially released for Mac OS X in 2011, several screenshots were put up on the game's Mac App Store page that show an unknown build that has several visual differences not seen in the final game. Differences include:

  • The score text being in a variant of the "AngryBirds" font. While later versions of the game would go on to use the "AngryBirds" font, versions released in 2010 use the "OnomatoShark" font instead.
  • The 5000 score pop-up that appears when you pop a pig seems to spin into view.
  • And most notably, the textures for the glass, wood and stone blocks are unique, as they are shown to have realistic-looking textures overlaid on a few of them and are in slighty different shades of color.
    • Interestingly, one of the wood block textures seems to be an early version of the wood block textures used in Angry Birds Rio.
