Digging into the Game#
Modlunky 2 lets you extract the string files, level files, textures, and the raw sound and music files. Modlunky 2 also makes the modding process very simple, so loading modified level files and textures to see them in-game is very easy. Playing Spelunky 2 with mods through Modlunky 2 adds a very faded Playlunky [version] watermark to the bottom-left corner to help prevent cheating.
The level files (.lvl) can be opened with a text editor like notepad to see the level data.
Modlunky 2 also has a tab to download and install Overlunky. It is an overlay which lets you have invincibility, spawn any object, warp to any level, manipulate the camera, view and modify entity details, edit save data, and more. Overlunky adds a watermark to the bottom of the screen that says Overlunky [version] to prevent cheating.
