Modding#
Before modding, editing, or deleting anything, be sure to keep original copies in a separate folder.
Adding Characters & Vehicles#
Almost every unused character and vehicle can be modded back in by adding them to the CHARS\COLLECTION.TXT file. The filenames of them are listed in the specific subpages.
A step by step guide:
- Close the game if you have it running.
- Read
COLLECTION.TXT. Just so you can get an idea of how its formatted. - Find the specific category in it.
- Add one of these example lines to the bottom of the category list, under the existing characters/vehicles, but with replacing the name and cheat code to the one you want.
Characters#
In this Character example, the CIVILIAN_BUDDY character will be added under the SERVICE category. ("cat 10")
collect Civilian_Buddy token buy_in_shop 100 cat 10 customiser_parts cheat_code buddyc
So, if you wanted to get the COP_INTERNHONEY character too, you add this line:
collect COP_INTERNHONEY token buy_in_shop 100 cat 10 customiser_parts cheat_code honeyi
Vehicles#
In this Vehicle example, the Bog will be added under the BIKES category. ("cat 17")
collect Novelty_Bog token buy_in_shop 100 cat 17 group 0 cheat_code toilet
So, if you wanted to get the NOVELTY_BUFFER vehicle too, you add this line:
collect Novelty_Buffer token buy_in_shop 100 cat 17 group 0 cheat_code buffer
- Any 6-digit code will work because the last 7th digit in the cheat code menu can be changed to an empty space.
- Save the
COLLECTION.TXT. - Open the game.
- If all goes well, once you enter the cheat code, they will be added to your Disguise Booth menu and/or Vehicle spawn menu.
Replacing Characters & Vehicles#
Some character/vehicles weren't complete and can't be added via a code.
In those cases, you can replace the files of a used character/vehicle with an unused one, and simply rename it. This comes with the drawback of replacing existing content, so make sure it's a character/vehicle you don't care about.
This example guide will replace the POLICE_SQUADDIE with the unfinished FARM_DEVOURER vehicle.
- Go to the
CHARS\VEHICLES\POLICE\POLICE_SQUADDIEfolder. - Move all the files to a separate safe folder.
- Copy the files from
CHARS\VEHICLES\FARM\FARM_DEVOURER. - Paste all the files to the
CHARS\VEHICLES\POLICE\POLICE_SQUADDIEfolder. - Rename the filenames from
FARM_DEVOURERtoPOLICE_SQUADDIE.
Custom Minifigure Textures#
All the character textures and models are under the CHARS\MINIFIGS\SUPER_CHARACTERS folder.
Minifigure textures can be replaced with custom textures by using programs like GIMP or Paint.net. Be sure to export your texture as a .DDS, and rename it to .TEX.
