Warcraft III: Reforged Sound files#

Reforged, the remaster of both Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and its expansion pack The Frozen Throne, was found to contain various voice lines and sound files cut from the original game and the expansion pack but somehow were included in the remaster. These audio files are of a high quality, since they originally were provided as .flac files. Converted to the .wav format, these were later uploaded to the Hive Workshop.

These cut files include, among other, dialogue from the campaign as well as hero death voice files that aren't groans or moans.

Back to the earth... I go.

In the final game, the death voice lines for campaign heroes are same as those of their generic counterparts. Perhaps it was originally intended for heroes to have unique death voice lines in addition to their unique quotes.

evilarthasdeath1

I'll be back!

furiondeath1

It is... ended.

illidandeath1

Finally... release!

illidanmorpheddeath1

Same as illidandeath1 but with the Morphed Illidan voice.

kelthuzadnecrodeath1

Ahh... isn't this ironic?

tyrandedeath1

Elune take me!

utherdeath1

Under the Light I go!

genericwarningplayerunderat

A player is under attack.

h01arthas15

Preying on your own people! You scum are no better than the Orcs!

File name indicates this would've played out in Chapter One of the Human Campaign, probably in either of the Bandits encounters.

h03arthas06

Looks like you haven't lost your touch. laughs It's good to see you again Jaina.

Used in the final game, minus the Eh at start and Arthas' laughter.

h03arthas28

The building looks cursed. Be ready for anything.

File name indicates this would've played out in Chapter Three of the Human Campaign.

h03arthas30

We may need to pay Andorhal a little visit.

Ditto, probably meant to play out during the Infected Granary cutscene, after Jaina's second line.

h05arthas15

Damn it! I want that caravan stopped before it reaches the next village!

In Chapter Five of the Human Campaign, each time a village is infected, a footman will grimly inform Arthas of the worsening situation. However Arthas does not reply back except at the start of the related optional quest and when the player fails to complete it. Arthas would've likely said these lines each time a village is infected.

h05arthas17

How many times must I order it?! I want that caravan destroyed!

h05arthas19

We cannot let ourselves be overrun. Intercept that caravan at once!

h06arthas18

This Way Gate is inactive but someone knows how to control it. If I can defeat them, I'll be able to use the gate to get around the city faster.

Way Gates do not appear in the infamous Chapter Six of the Human Campaign. However there are unused regions around the fountains called "Way Gates", suggesting they did appear in some early iteration of the map.

h06arthas19

There! That has to be the gate's activation point! I'll need to destroy it before the other gates can be opened.

h06arthas21

The only thing about to end is your life, worm!

An unused voice line in the final game suggests that a Necromancer would belittle Arthas at one point during the Chapter. Arthas then would retort with this line, as evidenced by the files numbering. The Necromancer's line was later added back into the game as part of Reforged's new rendition of Chapter Six but this one never made it.

h06arthas22

The gates are open! Now Mal'Ganis, we'll see who controls this city.

h06arthas39

I don't understand! Mal'Ganis is dead, but still his warriors fight on! We must keep going!

h07arthas05

What the? Those creatures are even bigger than Ogres. Slay them quickly!

Perhaps referring to either the Wendigos or Nerubians in Chapter Seven, the former would make sense considering how similar Wendigos are to Ogres.

h07arthas23

The Undead have threaten my father's kingdom as well. We've come here to slay their lord Mal'Ganis. sign You were always one of my father's closest friends, Muradin. Will you stand by me now? As you stood by him during the Orc war?

Dialogue for the reunion between Arthas and his old friend Muradin in Chapter Seven, the final game contains another unused, related voice line, hinting the cutscene was originally longer.

h07arthas25

Me too Muradin, me too.

h08arthas14

Muradin! This must be the Way Gate you are searching for!

In the final game, not a single Way Gate appears in Chapter Eight, and even if it did, it most definitely wouldn't be the one Muradin is looking for. Perhaps the storyline was too different at one point.

h08arthas17

Quickly now! The ships must be burned!

Arthas makes it clear he doesn't like ships, especially ones meant to recall his troops.

h09arthas22

The sword! It's devouring the Undead and replenishing my powers! I knew it would ensure our victory!

Arthas would've likely said this during gameplay, and not in a cutscene.

jainayesattack3

For King Terenas!

Jaina has two attack voice lines, this would've been the third.

kelthuzadnecrotaunt1

Life is wasted on the living.

kelthuzadnecrotaunt2

You look like a potential Acolyte.

kelthuzadtaunt1

Same as kelthuzadnecrotaunt1 but with Kel'Thuzad's Lich voice.

kelthuzadtaunt2

Same as kelthuzadnecrotaunt2 but with Kel'Thuzad's Lich voice.

Summon more Wisps!

Whenever your population is low as a Night Elves player, you're prompted to create more Moon Wells. However this line hints the Night Elves faction worked in a different way at some point, at least in regards to how they deal with food, one wonders how training more Wisps would increase your population.

sylvanastaunt1

Even the Trolls have more brains than you!

tichondriustaunt1

I rule... the night!
