This is a sub-page of Development:Frogger 2: Swampy's Revenge (PlayStation, Windows, Dreamcast).
Overview#
This page is provided as an entry point into being able to view various prototype, early and unfinished Frogger 2: Swampy's Revenge game levels (in screenshot form). The various game levels are split into themed sections and presented on their own dedicated sub-pages. Hopefully, the screenshots will afford the visitor interesting glimpses of unseen content and show how game levels evolved into their final release versions.
Screenshot Capture#
The majority of the screenshots presented were captured using Blitz Games (formerly Interactive Studios) in-house tools, predominantly a tool called Jobe. Jobe was used to view and tweak game levels, objects, animations, texturing, lighting, and comprised of many other powerful features. Level designers and artists would design and create levels using 3DS MAX (v2.5 then, later, v3.x) in conjunction with Jobe, using a proprietary .obe file format to facilitate the transfer of data between the two applications. A custom 3DS MAX plugin was developed for the import/export of .obe files.
Levels by Theme (Alphabetical)#
Frogger 2's level content was based on themes, and each theme contained a selection of playable levels with a distinctive and consistent look and feel. Please note that the themes are presented here in alphabetical order and not in the order they appeared in the game!
