Nicalis (if you don't live under a rock) is an indie focused company founded by a former-game journalist Tyrone Rodriguez that are brought to popularity for porting Cave Story.
However, around September 2019 they would catch heat for a controversy over poor management and ghosting their developers.
Side note: The company is pronounced as Ni-cal-is and not Nicho-las as like a name.
