This page details bugs of Ultimate Stuntman.

Boss Battle Crash#

During the boss battle, if the player's vitality and the boss' vitality run out at the same time, the game will crash. This is not the case in the "Golden Five" and Asian versions, where in such situation you just lose.

Bullet Path Glitch#

In the sidescrolling stages, when you die while your projectiles are on screen, they deviate from their expected path creating a zigzag pattern. This can also happen when pausing the game.

Curved Projectiles#

Sometimes, the bullets shot by your enemies might not travel in a straight line.

Impact Sprite Oversight#

In the Ground Pursuit stages, after defeating the boss the impact sprite (when crashing your vehicle into a wall) is overridden with the boss explosion graphics.

Inapplicable Powerups#

In the overhead hang glider stages (referred to as "Microlight Pursuit" in the manual), there are Turbo powerups which you can collect, but the glider itself has no turbo. They seem to serve no purpose other than giving you points.

Incorrectly Colored Text#

After the Mega Slug boss battles (worlds 2 and 5), the screen detailing the Bomb Disposal stage has one of the letters highlighted in a different color for seemingly no reason.

Worlds 1/3-4/6-8

Worlds 2/5

Jumping Collision Oversight#

Jumping onto certain objects might cause the game to behave unexpectedly.

  • In the boat stages, jumping onto the "fence" (the one that's partially underwater) will make the game crash.
  • In the sand buggy stages, jumping onto the dust particles, spikes, or green "cannons" will make the graphics glitch out, or cause the game to crash, or both.

Both of these glitches don't happen in the "Golden Five" multicart and Asian releases.

Life Counter Inconsistency#

There are three ways of seeing the number of lives at your disposal:

  • At the beginning of each stage, each life is briefly shown as a separate icon,
  • On the pause screen, each life is shown in the same way as above,
  • At the beginning of each stage, the number of lives is shown using a single digit.

Even though the life limit in this game is 9, the first method will only show a maximum of 5 icons, and the second one will show 8 at most. The digit at the beginning of the level will display 9 lives properly.

Miniboss Death Softlock#

In the sand buggy stages, if you drive your vehicle into the water right after defeating the stage miniboss (before the "Far out!" text pops up), the game will softlock.

Special Stage Failure Without Explosion#

Crashing into an obstacle during a special stage (after defeating a world's first level boss) results in your vehicle exploding. The stage counts as beaten after you collect all tokens and your vehicle stops; however, if you manage to crash in the brief period when you're stopping, no explosion occurs but the stage is lost anyway.
