Level 11 crash#
This game follows an arcade-style structure with a sequence of levels. Due to a printing error, some copies of the game may not behave properly on level 11:
- These copies often don't load the additional cutscenes after the Blue Mist General level boss is defeated because the screen cuts to black as soon as the player walks through a bridge door.
- There is a small chance for the bug NOT to occur without bypasses. The player is forced to defeat the level boss repeatedly and get lucky.
- The save file will NOT be updated if this crash happens, rendering the player unable to experience the final boss and ending for this game via normal means.
This bug was initially thought to only be present in European releases, but it seems Japan is the only region that is completely exempt from this error. In any case, a bypass has been found several years after release - as explained in the description on the video, the cutscene where the Blue Mist General boss first appears MUST be skipped, allowing the rest of the game to work as intended.
