Immediately Get 5 Power Taps#

Watch on YouTube

After Merrygo Island is complete, an NPC offers a Battle Plug tutorial on Shipshape Island. If the player loses during this battle, then continues and exits the tutorial, they will suddenly have all 5 Power Taps in their inventory when they go to set their Battle Plugs. Interestingly enough, this doesn't cause any issues later on, since the game simply won't give the Bros. another Power Tap after each Lighthouse boss, meaning they can keep going as normal.

Revisit Bowser's Castle In the Endgame#

Watch on YouTube

Once Bowser saves the Bros. from Reclusa's army, the door to his castle is permanently locked. However, by going to the corner of the door and switching to the Fire & Ice ability, the player can glitch right into the castle, since the loading zone is still present. This lets them explore the area as usual, fighting enemies and collecting enemies like at any other time in the game.

Trying to leave the castle will cause the game to softlock on a black screen. Mario and Luigi's sound effects can still be heard here (along with the Wayaway Island background music), but it's impossible to make any progress in this state. As a result, it's advised not to save in the castle, since otherwise the save file will be rendered permanently unwinnable.

"Postgame" Concordia#

Watch on YouTube

After defeating the final boss and getting back to Shipshape Island before the credits roll, the player can glitch out of the area and into the blue pipe where other islands can be accessed, which is normally blocked off by Snoutlet. The player has go to a specific rock area near the cannon, switch to Fire and Ice Bros., jump until Mario and Luigi reach the top of the tree and switch to Fire and Ice Bros. again so the Bros. can walk in air. After getting to the bridge, the player must switch to UFO Bros., so they can hover over it and eventually over to the ledge where the blue Pipe should be. With precise timing, the player will appear at the bottom part of the Pipe without being redirected by Snoutlet and will be able to visit the islands again.

The other areas appear in a normal state, whereas the red atmosphere, and chilling music are all gone and replaced with each island's respective song, but the flowers remain, including the NPCs trapped in them, and the Glohmed Enemies are still present, and can be fought regularly. The player can still collect Sprite Bulbs and save their game as normal, but doing the Side Quests that weren't cleared will be marked as complete, but as expired. Warping back to Shipshape will instantly have Snoutlet redirect Mario and Luigi out of the area, but the glitch can still be performed again.

The glitch cannot be performed at the Cannon, where Snoutlet will always instantly redirect Mario and Luigi.
